Sammy Enters the Picture
Beth Anne adopted Sammy (Sampson), a mini golden doodle who immediately became the third member of the relationship. Dating got more complicated, but also way cuter.
The Proposal at Cafe Wha
On April 11th, Derek orchestrated an elaborate fake invite-only Bruce Springsteen cover show at Cafe Wha — a spot they'd been to twice before. The Bruce show was fake, but the singer and guitarist from the house band were very real. They joined Derek on stage for Taylor Swift's "Love Story" as he pulled out a ring during the lyric "knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said..." Friends Isaac and Kitty were there to capture every moment.
The Celebration
After the proposal, the newly engaged couple headed to Churchill Tavern — where it all started — where all their friends and family were waiting to celebrate with them.
